Hailing from the small town of Oliver, British Columbia, Melanie Coles is a young mixed media artist/ designer currently living and practicing in Vancouver, Canada. She has been featured in many exhibits including a solo exhibit titled “All The Small Things” at The Petri Dish Gallery, January-February, 2007. She is currently finishing up a Bachelor of Media Arts Degree at Emily Carr Institute and has also attended courses on design at the British Columbia Institute of Technology. In 2006 she assisted CiTR 101.9 FM in setting the station up for podcasting and spoke of her experiences at the National Campus and Community Radio Conference 2007 at a seminar entitled "Women In Radio: Podcasting Archiving and using the Web". In February 2008 Melanie launched a new website for Zulu Records focusing on dynamic content. Melanie’s artwork and zines have received critical acclaim from publications such as Broken Pencil and The Drama. She is currently developping a Where's Waldo? game via Google Earth which is set to go live in late April and be launchced at the ECI Gradaution Exhibition. |
